The ranking recognizes the 100 most integrated networks out of hundreds of health systems graded annually on operations, quality, scope of services and efficiency. It is the second consecutive year Catholic Health has been named to the top 100 list, moving up to 64th in the nation, a jump of 32 places. Buffalo Emergency Associates (BEA) manages and operates the four Catholic Health hospitals’ emergency departments and its free-standing Emergency Room. We also manage and staff Hospitalist programs for the system. Altogether, BEA services more than 180,000 Catholic Health patient visits per year. Joseph D. McDonald, President and CEO of Catholic Health said, “We are putting better systems and technology in place to care for patients, integrate with our physicians and offer them easy access to patient medical information, measure and improve accuracy, quality, value and maximized efficiency. This all translates to pushing ourselves to perform at a higher level, and raising the bar on performance and a better patient experience, which is our ultimate focus.” BEA is proud to be a play a major role in this important and worthwhile endeavor. The rankings are conducted by SDI Health LLC, a nationally recognized healthcare data and consulting firm in Yardley, Pennsylvania. The designation was formerly known as the Verispan IHN 100.
