A Brief History

Buffalo Emergency Associates began with the establishment of an Emergency Medicine program in 2000 at five large emergency departments (EDs) in Western New York. In 2005, the organization earned contracts outside of the region, necessitating the creation of a more comprehensive organization, The Exigence Group.

Exigence quickly became a leader in the healthcare industry providing solutions for hospitals and communities throughout the country. Today, we develop and manage customized Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine programs and facilities. We now provide service to over 400,000 patients annually through these programs. We also provide consulting services in areas such as Emergency Department design, electronic medical record systems, electronic scheduling programs, rapid response programs and on-call panels. The Exigence Group has assembled an experienced and results-oriented team including world-class physicians and mid-level providers, healthcare administrators, practice managers, functional specialists (finance, legal, marketing) and entrepreneurs. Together with our partners, we are changing the way healthcare is designed and delivered.
